A copy of this is included at the end of this document.
Date: Saturday April 24th 2021
Start Time: Runners start at various times.
Supporters are encouraged to arrive by 9:00am. Volunteers, please arrive by 8:00am.
All runners set their own start times to end between 11:00 and Noon.
Bring any noisemakers, pompoms, flags, vuvuzelas or other fun stuff to celebrate the runners as they finish.
Anyone who would like to participate is welcome! Do any of the planned distances, your own activity or just chill by the Monterey Bay. NOTE: Half Marathon, 10K and 5K routes are all SOUTH towards the city of Pacific Grove. Only the Full marathon includes a northbound leg.
Volunteers will be stationed at the Start/Finish line and at the end of both the Northbound and Southbound legs. Distances will be marked for Marathon turn around points, the 10K turn around point and the 5K turn around Point.
Volunteers:
I need two volunteers to man tables at each end of the marathon legs with water and nutrition for the runners. Those people need to meet Friday in Monterey. Additionally, I’ll need 2 volunteers for the Start/Finish Line. Those people can arrive by 8:00am Saturday at the park.
Any who want to come and volunteer please confirm by email to Arnold Westphal @
mr.asw@icloud.com or by text/cell 831-760-2759.
At the end of the race, we will celebrate and enjoy lunch. I plan to eat lunch at the local brewery “Dustbowl Brewing Company” just next door to our location. They have a huge patio, great beers, and a taco truck on site. It is child and pet friendly. Please consider joining. They can accommodate our whole group! The park is also great if you prefer to picnic.
Please bring your own food, drinks, chairs and any other items you will need to be comfortable during the race. Check the weather and dress appropriately. Note parking is controlled by pay stations or meters.
COVID Compliance:
Note it is the responsibility of all to check the guidelines for the city and county of Monterey. Wear Masks! While policies are changing it is important to be cautious when in public.
